Located in Gaithersburg, Maryland, Intercell was a vaccine research, development, and manufacturing company. For the company’s 15,000 square foot facility consisting of labs, offices, and current good manufacturing practices (cGMP) space, Envise implemented a building automation system solution and performed modifications to the existing air-distribution system.
With strict timelines for production and the need for the facility to remain operational 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, Intercell required an aggressive schedule. In order to meet this tight timeframe, Envise utilized strong planning, communication tools and daily work meetings to ensure a smooth installation and suit the client’s needs while minimizing disruption to on-going operations.
As a single source of accountability offering a turnkey solution, Envise was able to stay within the guidelines set by Intercell. Ultimately, Southland Service provided a cost-effective controls solution that was delivered on time and under budget.
Since then, the facility has been leased by Novavax and Envise continues to maintain both the validated and non-validated controls systems in the building, today.
