Smith Performing Arts Center
Located in downtown Las Vegas, the Smith Performing Arts Center is a 358,000 square foot world-class center that now serves the city’s longstanding need for a performing arts venue. Envise provided building automation systems for the project and worked to exceed the goals of the owner, the City of Las Vegas. With three theatres in two buildings, this sustainable centerpiece for the entire community is the first performing arts center of its size and scope to achieve LEED Gold certification.
The building automation system that Envise implemented for the facility plays an integral role in the achievement of LEED Gold certification due to indoor air quality controls, metering and reporting of electric, gas, and water utilities, and plant optimization.
Since the project’s inception, the goal of creating a highly efficient and sustainable campus guided the design and construction process. Careful consideration was given to every detail of the facility from the selection and disposal of construction materials to insulation values and other key elements. The sustainable features within the facility include natural lighting, energy efficient windows, water-wise restroom fixtures, and low-emitting materials. Additionally, recycling during construction was another way the team was green.
With an ongoing preventative maintenance agreement for the building automation system, Envise ensures the building continues to operate optimally.
